Jevon Max operates Zingy Babe from Chennai — a women’s fashion and beauty desk built around color, cut, and clothes that survive a real Tuesday, not only a mood board. Friends have asked him what to wear since school. He is not a woman. He still notices how a neckline changes a face, which fabrics collapse in humidity, and which colors make someone look slept-in instead of tired.
He treats styling as editing: fewer pieces, clearer lines, honest advice on what to skip. That same eye shows up in the tools on this site. Off the page, he watches Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Korean, and Hollywood films — usually one or two every weekend — and follows cricket with the same attention. Badminton, table tennis, and foosball when there is a table. Travel sits beside all of that. Goa, Langkawi, Singapore, the Amalfi Coast, and New Zealand are the places he keeps returning to in his head, because heat, walking cities, and salt air change what “good outfit” means.
How we test
- Wear time. Garments are worn for at least four weeks and washed at least three times before we write about construction.
- Daylight only. Every colour judgement is made in natural light, never under retail lighting.
- No unpaid claims. If a claim cannot be verified — a fibre content, a clinical result — we say so plainly instead of repeating it.
- Skin safety. Beauty advice is editorial and general. It never replaces a dermatologist, and we say when something needs one.
